Improving the quality of life for families caring for children and adults with disabilities, chronic illness or age-related conditions.
What Is Respite?
Respite is a word which is not readily understood, yet one that continues to grow in people’s consciousness as more and more families take on the critical responsibilities of caring for a loved one with a life time disability, or age-related conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Care-giving can be a tender and loving gift of self and at the same time disconcerting and exhausting.
Respite is defined as a “short break.” This is what Helping Hands Respite Care offers through our care programs. We pride ourselves on hiring and training quality care staff whom you can trust to keep your loved one, interested, engaged, and safe while you have a short break.
